An afternoon at the Cirque d'Hiver Bouglione


The Cirque d'hiver ("Winter Circus") has been a prominent venue for circuses, exhibitions of dressage, musical concerts, other events and even fashion shows ( Thiery Mugler,Jean-Paul Gaultier ) The theatre was designed by the architect Jacques Ignace Hittorff and was opened by Emperor Napoleon III on December 11 1852 as the Cirque Napoléon. The theatre was renamed Cirque d'hiver in 1870.

In 1956 Carol Reed directed the film Trapeze. It was in part filmed at the Cirque d'hiver

PARIS HAUTE COUTURE


Olivier Saillard,Musee Galliera director has chosen in the reserves of the museum some 100+ pieces of haute couture to celebrate the know how of the Parisian ateliers.







Photographs and sketches lead us to an exceptional world of dresses chosen amid the bests pieces of the museum collection. 


















 Worth, Doucet, Poiret, Lanvin, Vionnet, Patou,  Chanel, Molyneux,  Rochas,  Maggy Rouff,  Jacques Heim, Nina Ricci, Schiaparelli, Jacques Fath, Balenciaga, Grès,  Balmain, Carven, Christian Dior,  Givenchy,  Cardin,  Yves Saint Laurent,  Courrèges,   Jean Paul Gaultier, Lacroix, Alaïa…This is a list of some of the couturiers you will find in the exhibition.
