To celebrate Charles James at the MET, Bergdorf Goodman did ask several designer to create dresses in homage to his talent,here is a glimpse at them.
Charles Wilson Brega James (18 July 1906- 23 September 1978) was a British-born fashion designer known as "America's First Couturier." He is widely considered to have been a master of cutting and is known for his highly structured aesthetic.
At the MET the retrospective features approximately sixty-five of
the most notable designs James produced over the course of his career, from the 1920s until his death in 1978.
