CHLOÉ. ATTITUDES

CHLOÉ marks its 60th anniversary.
From Gerard Pipart to Claire Waight Keller a myriad of designer did collaborate with the house, most pro eminent were Karl Lagerfeld (1966/83 and 1992/1997), Martine Sitbon (1985/1992), a very young Stella McCartney (1997/2001) and Phoebe Philo.

In 1952 Gaby Aghion created the first CHLOÉ collection. She conceived the house as an alternative to the world of couture. In doing so, she invented ready-to-wear.

Prints were key to the collection.

The Chloé exhibit, curated by Judith Clark, inaugurates the "Fashion Program" at the Palais de Tokyo.

Rather then chronologically, Judith Clark opted for a thematic exhibition.

Fun fact : did you know that at one point Maxime de la Falaise was part of the design team ?

"THE IMPOSSIBLE WARDROBE"

"The Impossible Wardrobe" is a 40 minute performance piece conceived by Olivier Saillard, director of the Galliera Museum in Paris in witch Tilda Swinton present 57 pieces from the museum collection. Dresses, coats, accessories, she carry them at arm's lenght but she inhabit them so intensely, that more then a today model could take a lesson on how to present a piece of clothing on the runway.

All stills photos taken during the projection of "The Future will last a very long time" a film by Katerina Jebb

Wearing nude Sonia Rykiel pumps, dressed in a lab coat, beauty, grace and elegance, you could not dream of a better mannequin to walk this strange Fashion show.
The pieces are waiting in their white bags, ready for a second chance to come back to life.
Unfortunately taking pictures during the performance was forbidden, you have to take my word  when I say that was the most memorable show in fashion shows history.
In attendance that evening, Alber Elbaz, Marc Audibet and Adeline Andre, all under the spell of Miss Swinton.
